Yesterday evening, the Government of Alberta gave it's latest announcement regarding COVID-19 and the level of restrictions within Alberta. As COVID-19 has become a reality for us over the past two years, we have always prioritized the best interests’ of our community and will continue to do so.
As we are currently operating within the provincial COVID-19 guidelines, several changes will occur to our operational model.
- Removal of the Restrictions Exemption Program: Users will no longer have to provide proof of vaccination and identification to access Genesis Centre facilities.
- Masking: Masking remains in effect until at least March 1st, at which point we anticipate the City's mask bylaw to be lifted. Masking requirements for youth 12 and under will be removed earlier, on February 14th.
- Capacity limits removed with the exception of spaces with capacity higher than 500, which will be capped at 500. Spaces with a capacity of over 1000 will be limited to 50%.
As COVID-19 information continues to be updated, we will clarify how our community may be impacted and provide concrete updates as soon as we are able. As such, we appreciate your continued patience and support of our organization as we continue to navigate the evolving pandemic.
